People I've helped ….
It wasn’t just the positive outcome, which was significant, it was also the many things I learned about myself and the ways in which I can improve my life. Sarah is highly experienced, warm, interesting extremely bright. Highly recommend. Katie.
I had read about EMDR and its successes with clients with trauma-related issues and PTSD and Sarah felt that it might be a good fit for me.
EMDR is unlike previous therapies I have experienced. It is not an easy ride but Sarah provides a safe space and holds it brilliantly. She brings lightness to deep work and made me feel heard and seen. I feel more solid, more in touch with and understanding of myself and I have been handed a few tools to use when I feel overwhelmed. After a few sessions the world started to feel like a much more manageable place and I am now ready to ‘go it alone’ again, very reassured to know that, should the need for a little support arise at some point, Sarah will be able to provide it with a couple more EMDR sessions.
Sarah is kind, warm, calm, and extremely good at what she does. Working with her has been a wonderful experience.
With her help, I’ve unravelled threads from my past, and freed myself to heal and grow. I feel more able to cope with difficult times, and enjoy good ones. Genuinely life changing!
I have just finished EMDR with Sarah. I had 7 sessions via zoom. I was suffering from PTSD after the sudden death of my husband. Sarah helped me work through the problems I was experiencing which enabled me to work through the trauma. It wasn’t easy – probably one of the hardest things I have done. I am very grateful to Sarah for giving me my confidence and life back again. I wouldn’t hesitate in using Sarah again if I have any problems in the future.
‘I wasn’t aware of EMDR before I met Sarah, but she explained exactly how the process would work and the science behind why it would be effective. It can be very daunting confronting difficult and painful memories and experiences, but Sarah gradually led me through the stages ensuring I was always in control and could back out at any point. I would thoroughly recommend therapy with Sarah, she is an expert in her field and she opened my eyes to the power of EMDR. In three months I feel like I have made progress with a number of very difficult personal issues’
I was in my late 40s when I was finally able to uncover some horrific repressed memories. I immediately suffered PTSD and felt as though my whole world had been turned upside down. It took me a while to find the right therapy and the right therapist. Simply talking about my trauma was not enough for me and I needed EMDR. This enabled me to deal the effects of the trauma that I had been living with all my life. The pain felt unbearable and I knew that I needed to do this with someone I trusted. When I found Sarah I immediately felt safe with her. She has such a wonderful, calming nature which put me at ease. Sarah was able to explain to me how trauma had affected me and how my brain had worked to bury the memories. She explained it in such a way that I was able to let go of all the guilt and shame that I’ve been carrying all my life. My healing journey has been made ever more possible by Sarah and I am truly grateful.
After undertaking a variety of talk therapies and never quite achieving the long-term peace I desired, EMDR has proven to be life-changing for me. Working with Sarah has been an absolute pleasure and, although on occasions the work we have done has been difficult and challenging, it has been so refreshing to find a trauma therapy that genuinely works. I have been constantly amazed at how the relatively simple method of ‘processing’ has managed to reboot my brain so that I no longer experience the painful or distressing feelings associated with events in my past. I am still me, but a much better and more peaceful version. If I could go out and prescribe EMDR to anyone suffering with PTSD or other trauma related mental health issues, then I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it or provide them with Sarah’s details.
I cannot speak highly enough of Sarah Brown—she’s a wonderful therapist with years of experience. I spent three months doing EMDR with her and it has changed my life; I have released decades of severe frozen trauma. Thank you Sarah!
“I started to see Sarah when an old trauma came back to haunt me. I felt comfortable and safe with Sarah, this was an important factor for me.
We went down the online EMDR route. I was, and still am, amazed how such a simple act can be so effective. I wish I had met Sarah and used this method years ago. I finally feel free.”
For the last few years I’ve experienced driving anxiety and it has held me back from enjoying experiences and living my life. I found Sarah online and she was incredible! I had EMDR and it enabled me to process my past trauma and fully recover from it. I am so grateful to her I would strongly recommend her services. I can’t thank her enough!
‘I found my EMDR therapy with Sarah transformative. It enabled me to deal with some of the most traumatic experiences of my life, in what felt like a safe and manageable way.
‘In the days after a session I felt really positive and I found I could move on. It started as face-to-face therapy and we moved to doing it online after the lockdown, which worked just as well. I wish I had discovered this 20 years ago.’
I had a course of EMDR with Sarah starting in May 2020. I sometimes found it exhausting to bring up painful memories and, at times, questioned whether the process was worth it.
However, since finishing my sessions in April 2021, I’m regularly amazed by the difference in my mental well-being.
When Sarah initially explained EMDR to me I hadn’t heard of it before and I was sceptical about how effective it would be for me, but I’m so grateful I was able to access this therapy during lockdown and I feel more regulated than ever. Thank you.
‘Sarah has helped me so much with my anxiety, I now have the tools to cope with stressful situations & her work has been invaluable to me. She made me feel relaxed from the start & I would recommend her to anyone. Her work has literally been life-changing for me.’
I found working with Sarah hugely beneficial, at a difficult point in my life. The EMDR therapy we worked through allowed me to deal with problems that I’d encountered repeatedly over many years.
Sarah provided a relaxed, non pressurised environment that really helped me to open up and discuss my issues with her. She helped me to really see where the underlying problems were and why I had been reacting the way I was. She was kind and understanding throughout and thanks to her I’ve really managed to get my life and relationships back on track.
Therapy with Sarah has been a life changing experience. Through her knowledge and toolkit of therapeutic skills and resources, I have been able to work through childhood trauma which was having a big impact on my day to day life. Sarah’s expertise and professional conduct enabled me to process these experiences so they no longer impact in the same way. I feel like I have myself back and am no longer burdened by the same distressing patterns which impacted on my functioning. This was a long and at times difficult process however Sarah’s commitment (alongside my own) and her warm professional manner meant I felt safe to be able to complete this much needed and life changing work. I would definitely recommend Sarah alongside EMDR and trauma therapy to anyone who is needing support in recovery.
Sarah helped me to turn a corner and heal. Throughout our time she was thoughtful, gentle and sensitive.
With her help, I started the process of recognising, understanding and dealing with words, judgements and problems that had been put upon me by others throughout my life. She helped me to see value in myself, address past wrongs and redefine healthier relationship boundaries.
She is a much needed harbour in a very rough life storm.
Sarah was a huge support through the early months of my marriage breakup. I wanted to confront all sorts of issues from my past and together we worked through them. On days when I was too emotional to work on those things she was supportive and allowed me to just share what had happened that day or that week. With her help I made many connections between past events and my present, allowing me to see things in a new light. Sarah has given me the tools and foundation to continue to heal.
