In an initial session we can discuss your needs and think about what will be most helpful for you. My aim is to help you develop your capacity to cope and move on from your distressing feelings. Whether it’s psychotherapy, counselling, EMDR, Couples Therapy or CBT, my approach to the work with you will be geared to your specific needs.
I am experienced in helping people cope with distress and resolve underlying difficulties. Sometimes, by sorting out your difficult childhood experiences, your current symptoms improve and you become less reactive, angry or overwhelmed.
It is possible to reprocess the scars from the past and the get rid of the negative beliefs you hold about yourself. The National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends EMDR for PTSD.
Research on the brain in the last twenty years, has taught us that it is possible to reprocess traumatic experiences and move on. The psychological injury left by trauma, does not have to be a life sentence. EMDR is particularly good for reprocessing traumatic events.
